So little time…

So I’ve been crocheting and sewing and I just don’t have enough time to spend on either as I also have to work 🙄   the things we have to do to be able to create!

Unfortunately, I have not finished my shawl as I had hoped, but there is not much left to do on it so it won’t take me long to finish. Here is my progress so far:

I just love the colours and how nicely they change, I think I am a little bit in love with the Caron Cakes, I now know what all the hype was about 😁

Instead of working on my shawl, I have been following the Woodland CAL from Lucy at Attic24. It’s been so lovely working with colours that I would never pick for myself. She has such a wonderful eye for colour and I admire her so much, she’s very inspirational. I am thoroughly enjoying the pattern and I just love working with Stylecraft Special DK, it’s just so soft and squishy 😆

There are lots of people doing the CAL from all over the world, and there are some of us following Lucy in her stroll through the woods and others are doing their own thing, either their own colour scheme, the same colours but in a different order and some people are doing a completely different pattern too. Either way, so far everyone’s blankets are coming along beautifully 😊  it’s so lovely to see everyone’s progress as I scroll through my Facebook feed. You can visit the Attic here on Facebook and see everyone’s progress 😊

Here’s some snaps of mine so far, I am a little behind after making a few mistakes and having to go back and re-do a couple of rows! Ooops:

It’s great to see people’s ideas for cataloguing their yarn too, I went with lolly sticks as I can just pop them in a mug and have quick and easy access to them. They were fun to make too ☺️ I had never thought of doing anything like that before, I usually just keep the wrap from the cal of yarn and tie a piece of the corresponding yarn to it. These then just go in a little box (not very tidily though lol) so I can refer to them if I need to.

I have also been doing Kathryn Kerr’s 365Challenge, a block a day for a year. I’ve done 6 so far, with working all day and being out of the flat for 11-12 hours a day, I’ve only managed to crochet in the evenings as I can do this in front of the TV under my duvet 😂

p.p1 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: center; font: 10.0px Arial; color: #000000; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000} p.p2 {margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px; text-align: center; font: 10.0px Arial; color: #000000; -webkit-text-stroke: #000000; min-height: 11.0px} span.s1 {font-kerning: none} span.s2 {font: 10.0px ‘Apple Color Emoji’; font-kerning: none}
Here are my blocks so far:

I think I have an addiction to Batik fabrics, I just love the colours and patterns, I have quite a few now and will be using them in this quilt 😊  it will be so pretty! Although I should probably finish my sampler quilt at some point… 🤔

Hope everyone has a lovely & creative weekend…H xx
